The Meeting That Changed Everything
Thousands of years ago, in an age when the world was ruled by courage, honor, and destiny, a single meeting changed the course of history.
Pampa Sarovar was not just a lake that day â it became the center of the universe. Here, destiny brought together Hanuman Ji, the mightiest Vanara and wisest minister, and Shri Rama, the embodiment of dharma and the ideal king. The air must have been electric, the forest still, as if creation itself paused to witness this moment.
đī¸ The Sacred Geography
Pampa Sarovar â one of the five holiest lakes in Hindu tradition â lies near Anegundi village, close to Hampi, Karnataka. Its still waters have reflected countless sunrises, but one day they witnessed something extraordinary.
The lake sits surrounded by rocky hills and ancient forests. The landscape feels timeless, as if the stones themselves hold memory. Even today, standing on its shores, you can sense that something momentous happened here â something that still ripples through time.
Rama had been wandering the southern forests, searching for his beloved Sita who had been taken to Lanka by Ravana. He was a prince without a kingdom, walking unknown lands, needing allies who knew this terrain.
On Rishyamukha Hill above the lake lived Sugriva, an exiled Vanara king hiding from his powerful brother Vali. With Sugriva was his most trusted minister â Hanuman Ji â the son of Vayu, blessed with immense power but living quietly in exile, his true purpose and power still dormant.
When Sugriva spotted two radiant princes approaching the lake, he feared they might be Vali’s spies. He sent Hanuman to investigate.
⥠The Moment â When Two Titans Stood Face to Face
Hanuman descended from the hill, disguising himself as a humble mendicant. His words were perfect â wisdom flowing like sacred music. When he finished speaking, Lakshmana turned to Rama in wonder:
“No one could speak like this â with such perfect words, such wisdom, such grace. This being is divinely learned, blessed by Goddess Saraswati herself.”
Then Rama revealed who he was. And Hanuman â the moment he heard Rama’s name, something awakened in his chest. As if his entire existence, all his dormant power, had been waiting for this single moment.
And right there, by those sacred waters of Pampa Sarovar, two titans stood face to face:
Lord Rama â the embodiment of dharma itself, carrying cosmic duty with effortless grace, wisdom and strength wrapped in perfect gentleness. A presence so complete that even the earth seemed to bow beneath his feet.
Hanumanji â power incarnate, holding the strength to leap across oceans and carry mountains, yet choosing humility. Wisdom that had mastered every art, every scripture, every secret of the universe â all waiting to be offered in pure devotion.
When their eyes met, the universe paused.
This was not king meeting subject. Not god meeting devotee. Not even friend meeting friend.
This was the moment when infinite power recognized its true purpose. When devotion found its eternal lord. When strength discovered what it was meant to serve.
In love so pure it had no words. In a devotion so complete that it would inspire millions across thousands of years.
And Rama smiled. A smile that said: “I have found the one who will make the impossible possible.”
From that meeting flowed everything else â the alliance with Sugriva, the search for Sita, the leap across the ocean, the war in Lanka, the victory of dharma. But none of it would have been possible without this sacred moment at Pampa Sarovar.
This was when two giants became one force. When power met purpose. When the greatest friendship in all of history was born.
đī¸ The Eternal Truth
That meeting at Pampa Sarovar was not just history. It was the establishment of an eternal pattern:
When sincere devotion calls, Hanuman responds.
When dharma is in need, divine help arrives.
When you serve selflessly, you access power beyond your own.
The meeting did not end that day. It continues â in different places, in different forms, wherever hearts call out with genuine faith.
đ Visit Pampa Sarovar â Walk Where Giants Walked
Even after the passage of thousands of years, we are incredibly fortunate that this very place still exists in Karnataka. What more could be a better experience than standing on the exact ground where Rama and Hanuman met? Where the universe paused? Where history changed forever?
Pampa Sarovar still stands near Hampi â about 5-6 km from Hampi, near Anegundi village. The lake, the hills, the ancient stones â all waiting. Walk where Rama walked. Stand where Hanuman descended. Feel the sacred weight of that moment that continues to echo through time.
To visit Pampa Sarovar is not just tourism. It is to touch a page from the Ramayana itself. It is to stand at the birthplace of the greatest friendship in all of existence.
The waters still reflect the sky as they did that day. The rocky hills of Rishyamukha still rise above. The air still carries something â a presence, a memory, a blessing from the past that refuses to fade.
We are blessed to have this place preserved for us across millennia. Do not miss the chance to experience it.
đ The Stillness in Budigere
And yet, the same power that flowed at Pampa Sarovar thousands of years ago somehow â mysteriously, inexplicably â also flows in Budigere today.
On the Bangalore-Airport road in Budigere stands Sri Kumbara Bavi Anjaneya Swamy Devasthana â one of the most powerful Hanuman temples. Built only forty years ago where potters once dug a well (“Kumbara Bavi” means Potter’s Well), perhaps reaching ancient earth below. What was found then? No one remembers clearly. Road accidents plagued this spot until the temple came. Then they stopped.
Budigere has the ancient Sri Deshanarayana Swamy Temple, said to be established by Bhima in Mahabharata times. Within its complex stands the Kala Bhairava temple, where dogs â the sacred vahana of Bhairava â are revered. This ancient land of Budigere knows old, sacred truths. The Ramayana happened ages before Mahabharata, yet this young modest Hanuman temple holds something inexplicable.
Personal experiences of devotees around the temple speak of something extraordinary happening here.
Those who stop, park in the adjacent plot, and step into the humble courtyard â those who stand outside the gate and pray â report a stillness that captures them. Something shifts. The noise of the highway fades away.
For Those Who Have Exhausted All Options
When despair overtakes you and no human help remains â this temple offers both solace and solution.
What works here is not material or monetary offerings, but service.
The Practice:
Bring a cloth. Clean the stone benches where devotees sit. Serve your fellow devotees as Hanuman served Rama. Speak both Hanuman’s and Rama’s names when you visit (Om Shri Ramay Namahah, Om Shri Hanumate Namahah).
The Principle:
When you serve selflessly here, you access a power beyond your own. That power is Hanumanji’s power flowing through you.
The Local Testament:
Locals believe with absolute certainty that Hanumanji is present here. When you serve with a sincere heart in this temple, Hanumanji will intervene and resolve what seems impossible.
The garbha griha (sanctum) is open 24/7 â even when the gates are closed, devotees can stand outside and pray. The temple opens mainly on Saturday mornings at 7:30 AM when villagers gather for abhisheka.

Perhaps that is exactly how Hanuman likes it. Hidden in plain sight. Available to those who truly need him. Responding to service and devotion.
When Rama and Hanuman met, power found purpose.
When you visit these sacred places, bring that same spirit.
Jai Shri Ram. Jai Hanuman.
